Galliford Try
AGM Statement
Galliford Try plc, the housebuilding and construction group, is holding its Annual General Meeting today, Friday 13 November 2015. At the meeting Greg Fitzgerald, Executive Chairman will say:
"The Group continues to see good market conditions in all of its businesses.
Linden Homes has enjoyed improved rates of sale of 0.60 units per outlet per week since the start of the financial year (2014: 0.48 for the equivalent period), from an average of 75 outlets (full year ended 30th June 2015: average 62 outlets). Galliford Try Partnerships continues to experience strong demand, and is working successfully with its Registered Provider partners to adapt to the Summer Budget changes.
Our Construction business is winning a strong level of new work at margins reflecting the improving market, and continues to make good progress in closing out legacy contracts.
The challenges of cost and availability of labour and materials are continuing to moderate across all our businesses.
I am delighted that Peter Truscott has now joined as Chief Executive and is already beginning to make a positive impact on the Group. We remain confident in achieving our expectations for the current financial year and delivering our strategy to 2018."
