GALLIFORD TRY SECURES £42 MILLION LIFT CONTRACT FOR COVENTRY PRIMARY CARE TRUST
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, today announced
that, as part of the gbconsortium, it has been named as the preferred private
sector partner by Coventry Primary Care Trust for the NHS Local Improvement
Finance Trust (LIFT) project. The initial contract value to Galliford Try is
£42 million over approximately two years with the potential to increase revenues
on further phases.
The initial project is to build a range of new primary care facilities in
Coventry. The first wave of these developments will see the construction of a
new GP surgery, two new health campuses and Phase 1 of a Coventry city centre
development.
David Calverley, Chief Executive of Galliford Try commented: 'We are delighted
to have secured a key target contract in our strategy to increase Galliford
Try's presence in the public sector health market. It underlines our reputation
for partnering and collaborative working and is testimony to our experience and
expertise in construction for the public and regulated sectors.'
Peter Hodder, Director of Primary Care for Coventry PCT commented: 'Forming a
public private partnership with gbconsortium puts us that bit further down the
road to delivering our vision of modern health and social care services in
Coventry. Now that we have selected our preferred bidder, the next stage of the
process is to move forward with the delivery of the initial schemes.'
