GALLIFORD TRY SECURES £65M EDUCATION CONTRACTS AND UNIVERSITY FRAMEWORK
Galliford Try, one of the UK's leading construction groups, announces that its Building business has secured contracts worth £65m and a major framework place in the education sector.
The business has signed a £38m contract with Northumberland County Council to build a new education campus in Hexham for the Hadrian Learning Trust. The project will co-locate Hexham Middle School and Queen Elizabeth High School on the existing high school site, including the creation of new sports facilities, open to the community.
In the West Midlands, the business has signed a £27m contract with University of Birmingham to build The University of Birmingham: The Exchange at 3 Centenary Square, in the heart of the city. The project will see the transformation of the former Municipal Bank building into spaces for research and public engagement, alongside collaborative working spaces and an incubator for graduate and student start-up businesses.
In addition, Galliford Try has secured a place on the University of Birmingham's Main Contractor Construction Framework in the £2.5m-£10m and £10m+ lots. The framework is set to run for the next 10 years, with both value bands carrying an estimated pipeline value of £700m over the period.
Bill Hocking, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: "We continue to make good progress in our key sectors and these excellent contract wins in the higher education and schools sectors are further demonstration of the quality of our offering."
