Group Board Changes
Following the decision of Mr Richard Miles, Non-Executive Chairman of
Galliford plc for the past six years, to retire following the Annual General
Meeting on Friday 29 October 1999, the Board is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Tony Palmer as a Non-Executive Director of the Board and as
Chairman designate with effect from 14 July 1999. Mr Palmer, aged 62 years,
spent 43 years with the Taylor Woodrow Group, the last seven as Chief
Executive Officer before his retirement in June 1997. He currently serves as
Non-Executive Chairman of High-Point Rendel Group plc, Meyer International plc
and Pilkington's Tiles Group plc and as Non-Executive Director of the Berkeley
Group plc.
Following the AGM Mr Peter Galliford will also step down as a Non-Executive
Director from the Board after serving the Group for 50 years, including the
position of Chairman.
There are no details pertaining to Mr Palmer which need to be disclosed
pursuant to paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules of the London
Stock Exchange.
