He will report direct to Chief Executive, David Calverley. Mick Noble will continue in his role as Managing Director of Stamford Homes, Galliford Try's housebuilding business in the eastern counties, but will step down from the Galliford Try Board with effect from 30 June 2003. Greg Fitzgerald, aged 38, is currently Chairman of Galliford Try's housebuilding business in the south west of England. He was one of the founders of Midas Homes in 1992, and was managing director when the company was acquired by Galliford in 1997. Midas has achieved significant growth as part of Galliford Try, and last year turned over £49 million selling 305 homes. Tony Palmer, Chairman of Galliford Try, commented: 'I would like to pay tribute to the contribution made to the Board by Mick Noble during his period as a director since 1996. He has greatly assisted us in developing the housing business, but will now focus on the operational management and direction of Stamford Homes. 'Greg Fitzgerald has been instrumental in the development of our highly successful housebuilding business in the south west. He has succeeded in expanding it, both organically and by the more recent acquisitions of Gerald Wood Homes and Knapp Homes, into one of the largest housebuilders in the region and a major contributor to Galliford Try's successful and profitable housebuilding business. The Board is confident of the further growth of the division under his leadership.'
