DIRECTORATE CHANGES
Galliford Try, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased to announce
that Greg Fitzgerald has been appointed Chief executive with effect from 1 July
2005. He succeeds David Calverley, who will become non-executive before taking
up the position of Chairman in October 2005.
Greg, aged 40, is currently Managing director of the Company's housebuilding
division and has been responsible for its recent successful development. He
started his career in contracting with Midas Construction in the South West,
became one of the founders of Midas Homes in 1992, and was managing director on
its acquisition by Galliford Try in 1997.
The Chairman, Tony Palmer, will retire at the Company's Annual General Meeting
in October 2005, when David Calverley will be appointed Non-executive chairman.
Chris Bucknall, currently the Senior independent non-executive director, will
become Deputy chairman.
The Board has given full consideration to the provisions of the New combined
code in respect of the appointment of a new chairman and has decided that David
Calverley is the right choice to lead the Board. He is a businessman with in
depth experience of commercial and corporate activity, a thorough understanding
of the industries in which the company operates and proven leadership skills.
The company expects to announce shortly the appointment of a further Independent
non-executive director. Following these appointments, the Board will consist of
three executive directors and four non-executive directors, three of whom will
be independent.

Biographies
Tony Palmer
Tony Palmer has been Chairman of the company since 1999. Formerly Chief
executive of Taylor Woodrow, he is the Senior independent non-executive director
of the Berkeley Group plc. Aged 67
David Calverley
David Calverley, aged 63, was appointed Chief executive of Galliford Try in
2000, having been Chief executive of Try Group plc from 1995. He was previously
a Director of Trafalgar House plc.
Greg Fitzgerald
Greg Fitzgerald, aged 40, commenced his career in the industry with Midas
Construction in the West Country. He was one of the founders of Midas Homes when
it was established in 1992, later becoming its Managing director and then
Chairman following its acquisition by Galliford Try in 1997. He joined the
Galliford Try plc Board in July 2003 on his appointment as Managing director of
the housebuilding division.
Chris Bucknall
Currently the company's Senior independent director, Chris Bucknall is an
Executive board director and Group chief executive, Commercial Services of
Compass Group plc. Previously he was Director of operations at Coca-Cola, and
Chief executive of Norwest Holst. He is 55.
