GALLIFORD TRY APPOINTED PREFERRED BIDDER ON £25 MILLION HOSPITAL PPP
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased to
announce that the Morrison Consortium has been appointed preferred bidder by NHS
Fife for a £25 million Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract to build and
operate a new state of the art Community Hospital and Health Centre in St
Andrews, Fife. The Morrison Consortium comprises Galliford Try Investments as
equity partner, Morrison Construction, which is part of Galliford Try's building
division, and Morrison Facilities Services.
The facility, which will cover a total floor area of 10,700 square metres and
almost 7 acres of land, will bring together a range of services into one modern
building. It will include three GP practices, a 40 bed Diagnostic and Treatment
Centre, specialist palliative care and an improved day surgery unit.
The equity investment in the project will be £2.3 million. Financial close is
expected in autumn 2007 and works will commence shortly afterwards. The hospital
is expected to open in March 2009.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, said:
'Galliford Try has a well-established presence in the PPP sector, a strong track
record in building healthcare facilities and is building up its investments in
these projects. We are looking forward to working with NHS Fife to deliver a
modern, first class health centre for the community.'
