GALLIFORD TRY ACHIEVES FINANCIAL CLOSE FOR
£60 MILLION NHS LOCAL IMPROVEMENT FINANCE TRUST
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, today announced
that it has entered into a 20 year framework partnering agreement for
construction services with Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership Limited. As
part of the gbconsortium, it has achieved financial close on the NHS Local
Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) for Liverpool and Sefton.
The first three projects, to be completed by August 2005, are a replacement
health centre at Ainsdale and new health centres at Everton and Litherland.
These projects are part of the first tranche which has a contract value of £20m
with the second tranche valued at around £40m. These initial tranches are
scheduled for completion by the end of 2007.

Galliford Try and gbconsortium are also preferred bidders for the Barnet,
Enfield and Haringey NHS LIFT and Coventry NHS LIFT.

1. LIFTs (Local Improvement Finance Trusts) are the Government's vehicle for
attracting private sector finance and expertise to developing primary care
centres. 42 LIFT companies will be set up across the country as joint
ventures between Primary Care Trusts (20%), the private sector (60%) and
Partnerships for Health (20%) a Government backed organisation leading the
roll out of LIFT projects.
2. The gbconsortium comprises Bilfinger Berger, BHE Holdings, Sapphire Primary
Care Developments and Galliford Try.
3. The Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership comprises gbconsortium (60%),
Partnerships for Health (20%) and the five Liverpool and Sefton Primary Care
Trusts (20%).
