Galliford Try PLC 15 January 2007 GALLIFORD TRY JOINT VENTURE WINS £32m OF WORK WITH YORKSHIRE WATER Galliford Try plc is delighted to announce that Morrison Construction, in joint venture with Earth Tech, has been awarded a £25.6million contract to upgrade the Mitchell Laithes Waste Water Treatment Works for Yorkshire Water as well as a £6.7million contract to construct new treatment facilities at the Lundwood Waste Water Works near Barnsley. Morrison Construction Water is part of Galliford Try's infrastructure division. Both contracts have been secured as additional projects outside the current framework contract for Yorkshire Water under its AMP4 programme. Earth Tech Morrison is now the leading contractor by value awarded for such large schemes having secured £55million of this type of business since April 2005 The Mitchell Laithes project, in the Spen Valley south of Dewsbury, forms part of Yorkshire Water's strategy to improve facilities at the site so that it can cope with greater flows and meet new effluent discharge standards proposed as a result of the Freshwater Fish Directive to improve the quality of river water. Work will start early in 2007 for completion by March 2010.
