GALLIFORD TRY AWARDED £71 MILLION REGENERATION SCHEMES
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased to
announce that it has been appointed by Shoreline Housing Partnership as
development partner on a £46 million regeneration scheme to redevelop the
Yarborough Estate in Grimsby. In addition, Galliford Try has been awarded a £25
million affordable housing contract at Payne Road for East Thames Housing Group.
The scheme to regenerate the Yarborough Estate will last for approximately eight
years. Galliford Try will provide 440 modern new properties, approximately 40%
of which will be social housing. There are also proposals for a new medical
centre and a new primary school, and the project will include a neighbourhood
green, play area and community 'eco gardens'.
Galliford Try has also been appointed by East Thames Housing Group to deliver a
£25 million mixed use scheme at Payne Road in East London. The project will
provide 158 mixed tenure residential units and will include a 2, 214 square
metre commercial and community space at ground floor level with car parking
facilities. Work is expected to be completed in December 2008.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, said:
'The presence we established as a local housebuilder in Grimsby with the
acquisition of Chartdale Homes last year was key to securing the Yarborough
award. We are well established in East London, and we look forward to working
with both Shoreline Housing Partnerships and East Thames Housing Group to
provide high quality homes which will put these communities at the forefront of
modern living.'
