GALLIFORD TRY SELECTED AS HCA DELIVERY PARTNER
Galliford Try plc, the housebuilding and construction group, has been awarded a framework contract as a Delivery Partner by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), as part of a panel that will be used to develop new affordable and private housing on public sector sites across England. Galliford Try is one of only six partners selected for the panel to operate across the UK in all three HCA regions.
As a delivery partner panel member, Galliford Try will deliver affordable housing for rent, shared ownership housing for sale, intermediate rent and speculative housing for sale. The homes will be built across three Government regions comprising North, Central and South.
All homes built by Galliford Try under the HCA's Public Land Initiative (PLI) will achieve at least Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and will meet Building for Life standards and minimum space requirements.
The PLI, which will initially enable 1,250 homes to be built nationwide including 500 affordable homes, aims to bring publicly owned housing sites forward using a different approach to procurement and delivery. Rather than selling outright to developers, public land owners will make land available on a deferred payment basis. It is anticipated that the panel will be used by local authorities and Government bodies disposing of public sector land.
Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald commented:
"We are delighted to be selected as one of the few Delivery Partners operating across all three clusters by the Homes and Community Agency to deliver much needed new homes on public sites."
Eamonn Boylan, Director of New Ventures and Partnerships & Deputy Chief Executive at the Homes and Communities Agency said:
"The Delivery Partner Panel will speed up development on publicly-owned land and make it possible for more homes to be delivered where they are in demand. We have worked closely with Galliford Try in the past and look forward to more partnership working for the benefit of communities around the country."
