GALLIFORD TRY ANNOUNCES £59M OF NEW INFRASTRUCTURE BUSINESS
Galliford Try plc, the housebuilding and construction group, announces that it has secured £59m of new infrastructure business.
The largest award is the £30 million contract from Scottish Water for the Meadowhead and Stevenston work package 6 which will be carried out by Galliford Try's Scottish business, Morrison Construction, in joint venture with Black & Veatch. Forming part of Scottish Water's strategic programme, the purpose of the scheme is to collect storm overflows from Irvine town centre and transfer them to Meadowhead waste water treatment works.
Galliford Try has also been awarded a £20 million contract for a major regeneration scheme in East Belfast which will be carried out in joint venture with SIAC (NI) Ltd. Led by the East Belfast Partnership, the scheme will establish a linear park along the Connswater, Knock and Loop rivers. The programme is due for completion in summer 2013.
Finally, Galliford Try has been awarded a £9m contract by Network Rail to upgrade security at 29 powered signal boxes throughout the UK.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try plc, commented:
"We are delighted to have secured these three infrastructure schemes which demonstrate the strength, breadth and depth of our presence in these important markets."
