GALLIFORD TRY APPOINTED TO £50 MILLION
ANGLIAN WATER PROJECT
Galliford Try plc, the construction and housebuilding group, is pleased to
announce that, in joint venture with Imtech Process, it has been appointed by
Anglian Water as preferred bidder for the Wing Water Treatment Works in
Northamptonshire.
The project, which will cost around £50 million and is Anglian Water's largest
single capital project in its current asset management programme AMP4, comprises
the design, construction and commisioning of a standalone extension to the
existing Water Treatment Works. Once completed, it will represent a 30% increase
in throughput and serve people in the Peterborough, Corby, Northampton and
Kettering areas. The project also involves the construction of two major pumping
stations. Mott McDonald is Project Engineer and Earthtech is the specialist
process design sub-contractor.
Work will commence in January 2008 and is expected to complete in December 2009.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented:
'We are delighted to be playing a major role in delivering Anglian Water's
infrastructure programme. Galliford Try is already a leading framework
contractor to the water industry and this appointment demonstrates once again
our ability to add to our workload by winning additional major projects'
