OFT INVESTIGATION INTO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Galliford Try plc notes the announcement by the Office of Fair Trading today of
its provisional findings into alleged infringements of competition law in the
construction industry.
As announced in May 2007, Galliford Try was initially contacted by the OFT
regarding 17 tenders submitted between 2000 and 2005 that represented a very
small proportion of the bidding activity of its building division during that
period. The release of the Statement of Objections today provides companies
under investigation by the OFT review with their first indication of the
evidence on which the OFT has based its allegations. Galliford Try has fully
co-operated with the OFT's enquiries throughout its investigation. It will now
review the OFT's provisional findings in detail and will respond accordingly.
Galliford Try carried out a full review of its policies on complying with
competition law last year, and is confident that it has robust policies and
processes in place to ensure compliance throughout the Group.
