Games Workshop Group PLC ('the Company')



The Company received notification on 8 September 2003 that Schroder Investment
Management Limited ('SIML'), have an interest in 5,292,130 ordinary shares in
the Company ('Ordinary Shares') which are held in portfolios managed on a
discretionary basis for clients of SIML under investment management agreements.



Included in this figure are:


(i) 75,000 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of a wholly-owned subsidiary nominee company of 
SIML, Schroder Nominees Limited,

(ii) 2,936,509 Ordinary Shares held in (a) unit trust(s) operated and managed by an affiliated company, Schroder Unit 
Trusts Limited ('SUTL'), and registered or to be registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited,

(iii) 107,212 Ordinary Shares registered in the name of Chase Manhattan Bank,

(iv) 275,000 Ordinary Shares registered in the name of Imperial Pensions Nominees Ltd,

(v) 807,177 Ordinary Shares registered in the name of British Coal Staff Superannuation a/c: P,

(vi) 742,232 Ordinary Shares registered in the name of Mineworkers Pension Scheme a/c: R,

(vii) 229,000 Ordinary Shares registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited, and

(viii) 120,000 Ordinary Shares registered in the name of BT Globenet Nominees Ltd a/c: 6B.



An affiliated company, Schroder Investment Management North America Inc ('SIMNA
Inc'), is managing (a) portfolio(s) on a similar basis holding a further 740,000
Ordinary Shares. 610,000 of these Ordinary Shares are registered or to be
registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited. The remaining 130,000 Ordinary
Shares are registered or to be registered in the name of State Street.



SIML and their affiliated companies are therefore interested in 6,032,130
Ordinary Shares in aggregate, representing approximately 19.85% of the Company's
issued share capital.



This notification is made:

(a) in respect of SIML's interest as investment managers,


(b) on behalf of SUTL and SIMNA Inc in relation to the interest it is treated as
having under the Companies Act 1985 ('the Act'), and


(c) on behalf of Schroders plc, SIML's holding company, which is treated as
having an interest in all of the above shares under the Act by virtue of its
ownership of SIMNA Inc, SUTL and SIML.
