    NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST OF DIRECTOR IN PHONELINK PLC (THE 'COMPANY')

In accordance with Section 324 of the Companies Act 1985, the company has been
notified today that Iain Johnston, an executive director, has sold 70,000
ordinary shares of 2.5p each in the capital of the Company (representing 0.001%
of the issued share capital).  The sale price per shares was £1.

Following the sale of these 2.5p shares in the capital of the Company
(representing 1.91% of the issued share capital).

The sale was effected by Mr Johnston in order to satisfy a personal, financial
requirement.
