               NOTICE OF MAJOR INTEREST IN SHARES OF GB GROUP PLC

GB Group received confirmation on 3 February 2005 that, following a purchase of
100,000 shares (representing 0.13% of the Companies share capital), that
Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited now has an interest in 2,450,000
ordinary shares of 2.5p, representing 3.07% of the issued share capital of the
Company. These shares are registered as UK Smaller Companies registered under
Chase Nominees Ltd (USS).
