                         TelMe.com plc ('the Company')

                         Appointment of New Chairman


The Company announces that Sir Gordon Brunton, its non-executive Chairman,
will retire from the Board of TelMe.com plc on 30 June 2001.  John
Walker-Haworth, presently a non-executive director of the Company, has been
appointed as Sir Gordon's successor as non-executive Chairman of the Company
from 1 July 2001.

Commenting on his appointment, John Walker-Haworth said:  'The Company is
entering an exciting phase in its development and is set to capitalise further
on its excellent products, services and people.  On behalf of the Board, I
would like to thank Sir Gordon for the great service he has given to the
Company during his stewardship.'

Notes to Editors


*         Sir Gordon Brunton became a member of the Board and was appointed
Chairman of the Company in May 1993.  He is also Chairman and a director of a
number of other companies.



*         John Walker-Haworth was appointed as a non-executive director of the
Company in April 2000.  For twenty years he was a director of SG Warburg & Co
and its successor organisations.  He is presently Deputy Chairman of the
Takeover Panel and a non-executive director of Merrill Lynch European
Investment Trust plc.
