Stmnt re Business Info Serv

Telme.Com PLC 13 March 2001 TelMe.com plc ('the Company') The Company announced today that another stage of the process to concentrate on its Customer Relationship Management and Travel business had resulted in the termination of its Business Information Service with effect from 1 April 2001 and the closure of its offices in Prenton. The Business Information Service, which forms part of the Group's Online Services division, was launched in 1994. It has not been core to the Group's activities in recent years, and subscriber numbers have declined accordingly. In the half year to 30 September 2000, the Business Information Service accounted for turnover of £0.3 million. Group revenues in the half-year to 30 September 2000 were £8.4 million. The move will enable the Company to focus on its Online travel activities and to build on the early success of TelMe Global Traveller, the Internet travel site and Ticket Window and Farebase, which provide technology and services to the travel industry. The growing Corporate Travel (Seaforths Travel) and Customer Information Management divisions are not affected in terms of personnel or activity, but the CRM division, which includes GB Information Management and DataCare, currently operated from two locations, will come together in Chester. Graham Ramsey CEO said 'The Company is growing as indicated with the announcement of the Group's interim results in December 2000 and it is regrettable that redundancies are necessary. This termination and closure further rationalises our business to concentrate on activities which will deliver profit and increase shareholder value'.
