APPOINTMENT OF MANAGING DIRECTOR, KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY
Gem Diamonds is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alistair Croll as
Managing Director of Kimberley Diamond Company NL, which was acquired by Gem
Diamonds Limited in November 2007.
Mr. Croll has extensive experience in the resources industry, both in Australia
and internationally.
After graduating from the University of Witwatersrand with a degree in mining
engineering, Mr Croll commenced a 17 year career with De Beers. During this time
he worked at a number of De Beers alluvial, open-cut and underground operations
in a variety of roles including operational, project, technical and senior
management.
Most recently Mr. Croll was the Chief Operating Officer for Consolidated
Minerals Limited in Australia where he was responsible for overseeing the
company's manganese, chromite and nickel operations.
Mr. Croll will be based in Kimberley Diamond Company's Perth office, where he
will play a critical role in developing the Ellendale Mine to its full
potential.
The appointment takes effect on the 25th February, 2008.
