Genus plc ('the Company') announces that further to the announcement released
today it has allotted a further 220,000 Ordinary Shares of 10p each in the
Company pursuant to the exercise of options. These shares rank pari passu in all
respects with the existing issued Ordinary Shares in the Company. Application
has been made to the London Stock Exchange for these shares to be quoted on AIM
and it is expected that dealings will commence on Friday 8 March 2002.
