The Company is pleased to announce that, in response to institutional demand, it
has, today, placed 725,000 new ordinary shares of 10p at 200p per share, raising
gross proceeds of £1,450,000. This placing has been made in pursuit of the
strategy for achieving a more balanced share register as announced on 23rd May
2002 and approved by shareholders at the AGM on 22nd August 2002.
Accordingly application has been made for the admission to trading on AIM of
725,000 ordinary shares of 10p in Genus plc ('the Company'). The shares will
rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary share capital
of the Company and trading is expected to commence on 18th December 2003.
