Genus plc ('the Company')

Additional Listing

Application has been made to the Alternative Investment Market of the London
Stock Exchange ('AIM') for a blocklisting on 1,288,916 ordinary shares of 10p
each to be admitted to trading on AIM.

These shares, ranking pari passu in all respects with the existing shares in
issue, will be allotted pursuant to the exercise of options and to the rules of
the following schemes:

Genus plc 1996 Executive Plan 15,600 shares
Genus plc 1999 Executive Plan 91,800 shares
Genus plc 2000 Company Share Plan Part A 34,807 shares
Genus plc 2000 Company Share Plan Part B 293,969 shares
Genus plc 2004 Company Share Plan Part A 155,634 shares
Genus plc 2004 Company Share Plan Part B 697,106 shares

These shares will not be allotted immediately but as and when the scheme rules
allow.

It is expected that admission will become effective on AIM on 6 March 2006.
