FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 13 March 2007
Genus plc
('Genus' or 'the Company')
Board Change
Genus, the world's leading animal genetics company, announces that Martin Boden
will be joining the Board as Finance Director with effect from 2nd April 2007.
David Timmins, the current Finance Director, will be leaving the Company after a
short transitional period to pursue other opportunities. Mr Timmins, who joined
the Board in March 2004, has played an important role in the development of the
Company, in particular the reverse takeover and the integration to date of Sygen
International plc ('Sygen'). He has also led the process of adopting
International Financial Reporting Standards in the Interim Results for the six
months ended 31st December 2006, one year in advance of the requirement for AIM
listed companies, in preparation for the move to the Main Market later this
year. Mr Timmins has reached the decision that it is time for him to move onto
new challenges.
The Board would like to thank Mr Timmins for his contribution to the success of
the Company.
Mr Boden, aged 48, is a Chartered Accountant with considerable experience of
large and diverse FTSE100 companies, most recently being Group Financial
Controller of GUS plc, a FTSE100 retail and business services company. The Board
believes Mr Boden's abilities and experience will greatly benefit the Company
particularly given the Company's forthcoming move to the Official List.
Genus plc is also pleased to announce that Richard Wood, Chief Executive, is to
continue with the Company until 31st March 2009 to lead the Company through its
next stage of development, to include its intended move to the Official List
and the delivery of the remaining synergies to be achieved from the Sygen
acquisition.
