                                Issue of equity


Application has been made for the admission to trading on AIM of 40,000 ordinary
shares of 10p each in Genus plc ('the Company).  The shares have been issued
pursuant to the exercise of share options by an employee of the Company.  The
shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued share
capital of the Company.


Trading in these shares will commence on Monday 18 July 2005.


This brings the total issued share capital in the company to 37,998,324 shares.
