The Board of Genus plc ('Genus') announces that it has been informed by Phoenix
Asset Management Partners Limited ('Phoenix') that in relation to the letter of
intent given by Phoenix to Genus in respect of Sygen Shares, referred to in the
offer update announcement made by Genus on 2 November 2005, Phoenix have sold
5,172,630 such ordinary shares and that Phoenix now hold 27,450,715 of such
ordinary shares subject to such letter of intent.

The Board of Genus plc ('Genus') announces that it has been informed by INVESCO
Asset Management Limited, a subsidiary of Amvescap PLC ('INVESCO') that in
relation to the letter of intent given by INVESCO to Genus in respect of Sygen
Shares, referred to in the offer update announcement made by Genus on 2 November
2005, INVESCO have sold 19,113,370 such ordinary shares and that INVESCO now
hold 8,706,126 of such ordinary shares subject to such letter of intent.
