The Directors of Genus plc announce that 50,000 shares, representing 0.15% of
the issued share capital of the Company, were purchased on Monday 27 May 2002,
at a price of 163 pence for cancellation. Following this transaction, the issued
share capital of the Company is now 33,199,303 (previously 33,249,303).
