IMMEDIATE RELEASE 21 March 2001
GENUS plc
RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR
APPOINTMENT OF NOMINATED ADVISOR
The Board of Genus plc ('Genus') announces that Julian Bayley is resigning
from his position as Non-executive Director with effect from 31st March 2001
to develop his own corporate finance business.
John Beckett, Chairman, said, 'Julian joined the Board in 1999 at an important
time in Genus' development. His corporate finance experience has been most
valuable to the Genus Group during a period of rapid change which included the
acquisitions of VDC plc and ABS Global Inc. followed by the company's
admission to AiM in July 2000. As the period of rapid change has now ended
and the agricultural market in the United Kingdom has deteriorated with the
impact of foot and mouth disease, we are not proposing to replace him on the
Board.'
'We are grateful to Julian for his wise counsel whilst he has been with us,
and understand his reasons for wishing to move on to other challenges.'
The Board of Genus also announces the appointment of N M Rothschild & Sons
Limited as Nominated Adviser and the resignation of Bridgewell Corporate
Finance with effect from 1st April 2001.
