Genus plc ('the Company')

Treasury Shares

The Company announces that today they have purchased a further 107,024 ordinary
shares of 10p each at 263.5p per share for holding as Treasury.

The issued share capital of the Company is 36,561,542 shares including 606,519
(1.65%) Treasury shares.

For reporting purposes under section 198 of the Companies Act 1985 the market
should exclude any shares held in treasury and should use a figure of 35,955,023
shares.
