BOARD APPOINTMENT AND SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGE

10 December 2012 - Glanbia plc ('Glanbia'), the global nutritional solutions and cheese group, today announces the appointment of Brian Phelan as an Executive Director with responsibility for Group Development and Global Cheese.  Mr Phelan, who is currently Group Human Resources/Operations Development Director, will take up his new role from 1 January 2013.

Brian Phelan (aged 46) is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and joined the Group in 1993 from KPMG.  For the past eight years his role has included responsibility for HR, Group Business Services as well the Glanbia Cheese and Nutricima joint ventures.

Commenting today, John Moloney, Group Managing Director said: "During the past eight years Brian has led significant change and development initiatives across the Group.  I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his appointment and wish him well in his new role".

Mr. Phelan has notified the Company that he has no details to be disclosed as required under Paragraph 6.6.7 Chapter 6 of the Irish Listing Rules and Paragraph 9.6.13, Chapter 9 of the UK Listing Rules.
