Glencore announces a non-executive director change
Glencore International plc ("Glencore") announces that with effect from the closing of its Merger with Xstrata plc, Peter Coates will take on a full time executive role in the Combined Group. Accordingly, with effect from that date, Peter Coates will cease to be a non-executive director. As announced by Santos Ltd today, Peter will also be stepping down as Chairman of Santos Ltd. Further details of Peter's role and other matters relating to the Combined Group will be provided in due course and following the closing of the Merger with Xstrata.
Ivan Glasenberg, CEO, said, "I am delighted that Peter has agreed to take on a full time role in the Combined Group. Peter has in-depth experience of the industry and will have an immensely valuable insight into Glencore Xstrata having previously worked in senior operational roles across both companies."
