JSE Approval of Secondary Listing and Publication of Pre-Listing Statement

Further to the announcement on 10 September 2013, Glencore Xstrata plc ("Glencore") announces that the JSE Limited (the "JSE") has approved Glencore's application for a secondary listing on the main board of the JSE (the "Listing").  The Listing will take place on 13 November 2013.

The pre-listing statement (the "Pre-Listing Statement") and abridged pre-listing statement (the "Abridged Pre-Listing Statement") in connection with the Listing are being published today.

The Listing will be an "inward foreign listing" as defined by the South African Reserve Bank. Glencore shares will trade under normal JSE settlement terms under the share code: GLN.  Investors are referred to pages 95 to 97 of the Pre-Listing Statement, which sets out the relevant provisions relating to South African exchange control.

Glencore's primary listing will continue to be on the London Stock Exchange; it also has a secondary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Copies of the Pre-Listing Statement will be available for inspection at the following addresses during usual business hours on any weekday (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays excepted) from and including today until 14 November 2013:
