The Company will hold the repurchased shares in treasury. Following the above transaction, the Company holds 1,099,894,958 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 12,986,305,108 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares), which corresponds to the total number of voting rights.
This figure for the total number of voting rights may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
These share purchases form part of the second part of the Company's existing buy-back programme which is expected to be completed over the period from 04 Aug 2022 to 14 Feb 2023, details of which were announced on 04 Aug 2022.
