Global Petroleum Directors announce that Dr John Armstrong will step down as
Executive Chairman and retire from the Board of the Company effective 2 April
2007.

Mr Ian Middlemas, will become a Director of the Company on that date and Mr Mark
Savage, a current Director, will become Chairman.

In relation to the forthcoming appointment of Mr Ian Middlemas as a Director of
the Company and in regards to Rule 17 and Schedule 2 (g) of the AIM rules the
Company discloses the following information:

restructure of its business from a technology focus to exploration, was
readmitted to official quotation of the ASX in April 2002.
