PRESS RELEASE
03 April 2007
DataCash announces worldwide "go-live" with Medicexchange
• Announcement of first contract in the Healthcare sector.
• Multi currency payment solution to be provided on a global basis.
DataCash Group PLC (AIM: DATA) is pleased to announce that it has been appointed
to provide payment processing to Medicexchange on a worldwide basis.
Medicexchange, the Global online community for Radiologists, provides a
marketplace for medical imaging professionals to purchase diagnostic, treatment
and surgery planning solutions. Medicexchange also plans to offer software on a
"per use" basis on products that were only previously available with high "per
unit" cost.
Medicexchange therefore needs the capability to accept credit and debit card
payments for these products and services on transactions with an average value
of over $2,500. As Medicexchange's market grows beyond the radiologists in
United States (to include Europe, China, Japan and Australia), it also needs a
payment solution that can manage high volumes of transactions on a Global basis
in all major currencies, twenty four hours a day.
DataCash was chosen to provide this solution. Its track record, expertise,
established relationships and Global capabilities allow it to provide
Medicexchange with fully outsourced and scalable payment processing in each new
Global market.
Commenting on the contract, Andrew Dark Chief Operating Officer at DataCash
said:
"We are delighted to be involved in an exciting new market and a new sector for
DataCash. Whilst initial transaction volumes are expected to be low there is
exceptional growth potential with Medicexchange targeting over 1.5 million
practicing radiologists in the United States, Europe, China and Australia.
"The payment processing solution we have provided allows Medicexchange to
accept, and its clients to make, high value credit and debit card payments safe
in the knowledge that the payment systems in place operate to the highest levels
of both reliability and security".
