Appointment of New Non-Executive Directors

Globalworth Real Estate Investments Limited (AIM: GWI) ("Globalworth" or "the Company"), the real estate investment company targeting opportunities in Romania and the broader SEE and CEE regions,  announces the appointment of three non-executive directors.

Two of these appointments are made pursuant to the investment agreement with York Capital Management Global Advisors, LLC ("York") and certain affiliates of Oak Hill Advisors (Europe), LLP ("Oak Hill"). The appointments, which will take immediate effect, are Akbar Abdul Aziz Rafiq, aged 38, who is York's appointed director, and Alexis Atteslis, aged 34, who is Oak Hill's appointed director.

Additionally, the Company announces the appointment of Andreea Petreanu, aged 37, as an independent non-executive director, with immediate effect.

The following are brief summaries of each of the new non-executive directors.

Akbar Rafiq, Managing Director, Co-Head Europe Credit, York Capital Management

Akbar joined York Capital Management in June 2011 and is a Co-Head of European Credit, based in London, and Co-Portfolio Manager of the York European Distressed Credit funds. From 2007 to 2011, Akbar worked as a Vice President and Senior Distressed Debt Analyst at Deutsche Bank AG, London. Previously, Akbar held various positions in the investment banking division at Bear, Stearns and Co. Inc. From 2000 to 2003, Akbar worked as an Associate for a private equity firm, Alta Communications. Akbar received a B.A in Economics from the University of Rochester and an M.B.A from the London Business School.

Alexis Atteslis, Principal, Oak Hill 

Alexis serves as a Principal at Oak Hill with senior responsibility for European investments. Alexis has more than 10 years of experience in the finance industry, having previously worked at Deutsche Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He received an MA from the University of Cambridge and has earned a Chartered Accountant qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Andreea Petreanu, Director, Head of Global Financial Institutions, Credit Risk Management, VTB Bank

Andreea Petreanu has over 13 years of experience in the investment banking industry, working as credit risk manager for top tier global investment banks including Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America. Andreea joined the Risk department of VTB Capital in London in July 2011 and she is currently in charge of the credit risk management of bank's financial institutions clients. Andreea's educational background includes an Executive MBA from University of Cambridge, Judge Business School and an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from City University, CASS Business School. Andreea is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in London
