Genesis Products Division Enters New Government Assisted-Living Housing Market
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 23, 2008) - Genesis Worldwide Inc. ("Genesis" or the "Company"),
(TSX:GWI)(AIM:GWI), an industry leader in "green" structural building technologies, today announced that its
Genesis Products Division and subsidiary, KML Building Solutions ("KML"), has been contracted to build green
affordable housing units in Cambridge, Ontario for low income families.
KML will supply all the light steel framing needs for the government assisted-living mid-rise multi-family
structure. Onsite work has commenced, and the estimated completion date for KML's portion of construction is
January 30, 2009. This project represents a four-storey building which meets a high standard of fire
requirements in the Ontario Building Code. KML will supply and install the Genesis Solution, which includes the
Genesis Wall Panel System, Genesis iSPAN(TM) Floor System with Metal Deck and Concrete, as well as a Genesis
Roof Truss Solution.
Genesis' light steel structural building technology is environmentally conscious and energy efficient, as well
as being fire resistant, which will provide a superior, safe living environment. Air quality remains superior
because light steel buildings are allergen-free, mould-free and toxin-free. KML and Genesis have the experience
and successful track record to build affordable housing in the marketplace.
Genesis' President and CEO, Vince Mifsud, says Genesis is excited to be part of this affordable housing
project. "This is the first project for KML in this particular market segment. We are pleased to be building
quality residential structures that are important for residents in Cambridge. The government assisted-living
market is an interesting niche for our licensees. Our Genesis Solution fits particularly well where there are
multiple family units connected and when combustibility and sound are concerns, which is the case here.
Importantly, our solution also allows for buildings to take on many different architectural styles in order to
blend into the community without looking like a block of apartments."
Added Mifsud, "The quality and speed of the Genesis Solution means that families will be able to benefit from
these mid-rise residential units within a short time-frame. Significantly, this housing project will have a
long standing impact on the Cambridge community for many years to come."
About KML Building Solutions
KML utilizes Genesis' framing technology to provide builders with higher quality, faster and more cost
effective framing solutions than the traditional framing methods of the past. Innovative light steel building
materials and a fully integrated "turn-key approach" to framing construction sets KML apart and provides
builders with a more simplified building process with considerably less risk. KML has become a leading light
steel framing innovator and provider focused on the Ontario market, and has constructed over 400 projects
totaling approximately ten million square feet. KML's manufacturing facility is located in Vaughan, Ontario,
Canada and is Genesis' first Canadian licensee. For additional information about KML, visit
