Appointment of Chief Operating Officer
Gooch & Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of optical components and systems, today announces the appointment of Alex Warnock as the Company's Chief Operating Officer with effect from 10 November 2014.
Alex, who is also appointed to the Board of Directors, joins G&H from Optos plc where he was chief operating officer, a role in which he was responsible for global, multi-site operations. Alex joined Optos plc in 2008,and held other positions including chief technology officer.
His experience of leading the integration of manufacturing, supply-chain, R&D and product management to successfully bring complex photonics-based new products to market is particularly relevant to G&H as the Company transitions to a more systems-based business.
Alex has an extensive track record in international markets and broad experience of new product introduction (NPI) particularly of complex electronic products. He has held the positions of director, Global CAS Technology and Development for DePuy iOrthopaedics (a division of Johnson & Johnson); divisional vice president and senior GM/VP engineering at Pace Micro Technology; and European operations manager at Motorola.
Alex holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

Additional disclosures pursuant to Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules with regards to the appointment of Alexander Warnock (aged 49 years):
Alex was a director of Impact Enterprises (Scotland) Limited from 31 October 2006 to 20 June 2008. Impact Enterprises (Scotland) Limited was subject to a court winding up order on 23 June 2009 and dissolved on 26 December 2011. On 24 March 2014, pursuant to a lease purchase equipment agreement, Lombard North Central PLC raised sheriff court proceedings against Alex and his former co-director of Impact Enterprises (Scotland) Limited for £61,940 and court expenses and a proposal for settlement has been reached with Lombard North Central PLC.
There is no other information that is required to be disclosed with regards to the appointment of Alex Warnock pursuant to Rule 17 or Schedule2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
