                      Notification of Preliminary Results

Gooch & Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of acousto-optic and
electro-optic devices, precision optical components, crystals, and instruments
for measuring optical radiation, will be announcing its Preliminary results for
the year ended 30 September 2005 on Wednesday, 7 December 2005.

An analyst briefing will be held at 9.30am and a press briefing at 11.00am at
