Grafton Group plc ('the company') has been informed on 9 June 2005 by Bank of
Ireland Asset Management Limited of 40 Mespil Road, Dublin 4 that it now holds
25,878,872 Grafton Units representing 10.92 per cent of the issued share capital
of the company.



Of this holding, 24,225,179 units are registered in the name of Bank of Ireland
Nominees Limited, 50,318 units are registered in the nominee company name of BNY
Custodial Nominees Limited, 264,574 are registered in the name of Citibank
Nominees Limited, 170,214 units are registered in the name of Mellon Nominees
Limited and 1,168,587 are registered in the name of Nortrust Nominees Limited as
registered owner only on behalf of a range of clients each of whom are the
beneficial owner of a portion of the holding
