                          STATEMENT RE: PRESS COMMENT

The Board of Grainger Trust plc ('Grainger') has noted the recent press comment
regarding its interest in making an offer for Parkdean Holidays plc
('Parkdean'). Grainger confirms that it is currently in discussions with
Parkdean which may, or may not, lead to an offer for the whole of Parkdean's
issued share capital.
