GTE and Siemens Power Generation sign exclusive supply agreement
Gas Turbine Efficiency (GTE) and Siemens Power Generation have signed a 3-year
exclusive supply agreement under which GTE will supply, integrate, test, train
and install Combustion Dynamics Monitoring Systems (CDMS).
Siemens will exclusively market, under its own name, the systems worldwide on
its combustion turbine fleets. Under the agreement, each party will retain its
intellectual property delivered to each other prior to signing the agreement.
The CDMS system integrates a variety of sensors, hardware and controls to create
a much more effective solution on a variety of gas turbine operating issues,
including:
•fuel variability & fuel quality
•emissions optimisation
•combustion tuning and fuel efficiency
•parts life extension and system protection
Steve Zwolinski, CEO of GTE, said: 'GTE continues to expand its products and
services portfolio with a common strategy of optimising turbine performance to
lower fuel costs, equipment downtime, system reliability and the minimisation of
greenhouse gas emissions.'
GTE delivers technologically advanced integrated solutions for environmental,
process and asset optimisation. The focus is on improved performance and
availability, fuel efficiency, restoration of optimal design and parts life
extension, resulting in increased profits for our clients and a cleaner
environment. The Group's product and services portfolio includes advanced wash
systems, performance monitoring and fluid and control systems for gas turbines.
The Power Generation Group (PG), a unit of Siemens AG, is one of the premier
entities in the international power generation sector. In fiscal 2006 (which
ended September 30), Siemens PG posted sales amounting to more than EUR10
billion and received new orders totaling EUR12.5 billion. Group profit amounted
to EUR782 million. On September 30 2006, PG had a work force of approximately
36,400 worldwide. Further information at: www.siemens.com/powergeneration.
