Great Portland Estates plc appoints non-executive director

The Board of Great Portland Estates plc is delighted to announce that Jonathan
Short has been appointed as a non-executive director with effect from 2 April
2007. Mr Short, most recently Chief Executive Officer of Pramerica Real Estate
Investors for seven years, has also previously worked for Lazard, Barings and
Warburgs. He is currently a non-executive director of Big Yellow Group plc and
Chairman of the Urban Land Institute in the UK.

There is no further disclosure required in relation to Mr Short pursuant to Rule
9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
