                               BOARD APPOINTMENT


Miss Kathleen O'Donovan, aged 45, has been appointed as a non-executive director
of Great Portland Estates P.L.C. with effect from 1 April 2003.


Previously Chief Financial Officer for BTR and Invensys plc for over eleven
years, she is currently a non-executive director at EMI Group plc and Chairman
of the Audit Committee of the Court of the Bank of England.
