BOARD CHANGE
The Board of Great Portland Estates P.L.C. announces Patrick Hall's
resignation as a Director of the Company. Peter Shaw, who was appointed
Joint Managing Director with Patrick Hall in March this year, assumes the
role of Managing Director with immediate effect.
Commenting, Richard Peskin, non-executive Chairman of Great Portland, said:
'Patrick has been responsible for handling the current sales programme which
is now substantially complete. I, therefore, understand and respect his
decision to leave and the Board wishes him every success in the future.
'Following the return of 80 pence per share to shareholders in September, we
are progressing our strategy of investing and developing in London and the
South East, where there continues to be good growth and where we believe
shareholder value will best be realised. Paul Gittens and his experienced
management team remain in charge of that sphere of operations.'
Patrick Hall said:
'I have been a director of Great Portland for over nine years and have played
a significant part in implementing the disposal programme of some £400
million. At the age of 51, I decided that it was an appropriate time to move
on and I am happy to say that I leave on the best of terms.'
