Notification of Placing / Sell-down
Greencoat UK Wind (the 'Company') notes the announcement by The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills ('BIS') - a cornerstone investor in the 2013 listing of Greencoat UK Wind - that it has sold down its entire 50 million ordinary share holding, representing 10.8% of the issued share capital. The shares have been placed with a broad range of investors by RBC Capital Markets, Barclays and Winterflood Securities.
Tim Ingram, Chairman, commented: "From the outset, BIS's objective was to support the launch of Greencoat UK Wind, thereby helping to encourage significant additional private capital into energy infrastructure. BIS's support has proven to be very successful, with over £1.7 billion of private capital being raised by Greencoat UK Wind and other follow-on funds, helping to speed up the process of recycling capital into the construction of new renewable energy assets."
Stephen Lilley, Partner of Greencoat Capital, added: "We are grateful for BIS's support over the last two years and have been delighted that since then, we have increased the size of our business and welcomed in many more shareholders, keen to invest in operating UK wind farms through a fund that provides a simple stable RPI inflating sterling dividend and NAV that grows on a real basis."
A full notification by the Company will be provided upon receipt of full disclosure from the shareholder.
