BERGIN TELEPHONE 353 1 605 1029 FAX 353 1 605 1104 BOARD CHANGES AT GREENCORE GROUP PLC ('GREENCORE') The Board of Greencore announced today that it has elected Mr. Edmond F. Sullivan (54) as Chairman Designate of the Company to succeed Mr. Anthony D. Barry, who will step down from office after the Annual General Meeting which will take place on 6th February, 2003. The Board also announced that it has co-opted Mr. Sean P. FitzPatrick (54) as a non-executive director of the company effective 1st January, 2003 to replace Mr. Ben Power who, as previously announced, retires from the Board at the end of the calendar year. Mr. Sullivan was co-opted to the Board in March, 2002 and is a member of the Audit Committee. He was previously Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc and, prior to that, held a number of senior positions with Grand Metropolitan plc in London and Dublin. He was the first Chairman of An Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board) having previously served on the Board of CBF (The Irish Live Stock and Meat Board). Mr. FitzPatrick is the Group Chief Executive of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc a position he has held since 1986. He is a non-executive director of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority and a past president of The Irish Bankers Federation. Other than Mr. FitzPatrick's directorship of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc he has not held any directorships in any publicly quoted company at any time in the past five years. Also, there are no further disclosures to be made in respect of Mr. FitzPatrick pursuant to Section 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules. Commenting on these changes, Greencore's chairman, Tony Barry said: 'The Board is delighted that Ned Sullivan has accepted its invitation to succeed me as Chairman of Greencore. His extensive experience in the food industry both in Ireland and the United Kingdom has already been of considerable benefit to the company.
