Greencore Group Plc ('Greencore') Announces Appointments Of Chief Financial
Officer And Group Development Director
The Board of Greencore today announces the appointment of Patrick Coveney as
Chief Financial Officer and Geoff Doherty as Group Development Director. Both
Patrick and Geoff will join the Board of Greencore as Executive Directors.
Patrick Coveney (34) is currently a Partner of leading international management
consultants, McKinsey and Company and Location Manager of McKinsey in Dublin.
In this role, he has gained extensive knowledge and experience in Irish, UK and
EU consumer food, food service and retail markets and has played a central role
in the development and delivery of successful strategies for a number of major
clients in these sectors. Patrick has also led significant strategic projects in
the financial services sector. Prior to joining McKinsey in 1996, Patrick was a
Rhodes Scholar at New College, Oxford where he gained a doctorate in Management
Studies. He also has a B.Comm (First Class) from University College Cork, where
he was overall Graduate of the Year in 1992. Patrick will join Greencore and
be appointed to the Board with effect from 5th September, 2005.
Geoff Doherty (34) joined Greencore in 2001 as Group Financial Controller. He
played a key role in integrating the Greencore and Hazlewood businesses
including streamlining the Group's financial and reporting systems and driving a
highly disciplined approach to working capital management and cash flow
generation. He will join the Board as Group Development Director with
responsibility for all acquisition and disposal activity, major Group projects
and he will continue to drive the Group's cost reduction programme. Geoff
graduated from University College Dublin with a B.Comm in 1992 and qualified as
an A.C.A. in 1995. Prior to joining Greencore, Geoff was Group Financial
Controller of IWP, a publicly quoted company based in Dublin. Geoff will be
appointed to the Board of Greencore with effect from 1st July, 2005.
There are no further disclosures to be made in respect of either Mr. Coveney or
Mr. Doherty pursuant to Section 6.F.2.(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
Commenting on the appointments, David Dilger, Chief Executive of Greencore said:

talent.
As Chief Financial Officer, Patrick will bring a great feel, interest and
knowledge of our business, great leadership skills and an exceptional level of
strategic and financial expertise to the Group.
Geoff is a highly focused and highly result oriented executive who has played an
influential role in the development of Greencore since he joined us in 2001,
most notably on the successful integration of Hazlewood Foods. His experience
and knowledge of the Group and the sectors in which it operates makes him the
obvious choice to lead our development activity as well as major Group projects
as we move forward.'
