FLOUR JOINT VENTURE
Greencore Group plc ('Greencore') announced today 28th March, 2002 that it has
disposed of a further 26% of its shareholding in its flour business, Odlum Group
Limited ('Odlums'), to IAWS Group plc ('IAWS'). This brings the shareholding of
IAWS in Odlums to 50%.
The value of the net assets of Odlums as at the date of its last audited
accounts, 28th September, 2001, amounted to IR£12,248,000. The proceeds received
by Greencore will be used to reduce the indebtedness which it incurred on its
acquisition last year of Hazlewood Foods plc.
Greencore's Chief Executive, David Dilger said 'We are delighted to have
completed this transaction with IAWS. Under the combined guidance and leadership
of our two Groups, I am confident that Odlums will secure the economic
production of flour in Ireland on a scale which can deliver value to our
customers and which will benefit both Greencore and IAWS going forward.'
