                           ANALYST AND INVESTOR VISIT


 Greggs is the UK's leading retailer specialising in sandwiches, savouries and
 other bakery products, with a particular focus on takeaway food and catering.
It has over 1,300 retail outlets throughout the UK, trading under the Greggs and
                              Bakers Oven brands.


Greggs plc is today, Thursday 24 May 2007, hosting a site visit for analysts and
investors in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The day will include a visit to some new store formats, the group technical
centre and the Company's central manufacturing operations at Balliol Park.  The
visit will include a presentation on previously announced strategic changes in
the business, product development and marketing.
